You may find time to visit “The Jurors” artwork marking the 800th Anniversary do the Magna Carta in 2015 or, a bit further along, the “Writ in Water” artwork. (No charge to see any of these sites)

We then take a very short coach journey to catch the boat which goes from the Salters Steamers base in the Runnymede Pleasure Grounds. Strawberry Hill House, Twickenham

Wednesday, 28th August, 2019

Cost: £26.50 inc. entrance and driver’s gratuity

Have you ever visited this wonderful Gothic House? Strawberry Hill House was first erected as a modest house in 1698. Horace Walpole bought it and he transformed it into a "little Gothic Castle". He was a son of England's first Prime Minister, Sir Robert Walpole. The house was opened to a few selected guests but soon after it became a popular place for tourists to visit. Twickenham is in an affluent area of the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames and is full of 18th century buildings and pleasure grounds, old pubs and cafes.
